Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium Context
Pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and diminish the difference between them and their peers. Funding is allocated to schools to work with pupils:
· who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years
· who have left local-authority care because of adoption, special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order
· or who have been in local-authority care for 1 day or more
We also recognise that that not all pupils who are socially disadvantaged are registered or qualify for free school meals and so the academy reserves the right to allocate the Pupil Premium funding to support any pupil or groups of pupils the school has legitimately identified as needing additional support to achieve improved outcomes in learning and/or well-being.
